the infinite today
instead of eschewing the past
(so much focus on "living in the Now")
ignoring it as illusion
or "over"
another option:
recognizing that past moments linger
both in the body
and in timelines
see that at some level
the past is still happening!
helpful hint:
go back to the pain points
& wrap them in a blanket of comforting love
make this a habit
and one day
in a moment of forgetting
you may find yourself embraced and lifted
by a brighter & wiser version
of your Self
(with respect to the spiritual teacher Brian Baruch)
bellyaching
having some level of understanding
of
the importance
of
positive thinking
is useful
however (unpleasant)
chronic pain
flexes this muscle

“don’t just do something, sit there!”
when I need a break from the density
I take the streetcar to (almost) the end of the line
walk a bit
and sit
city phase
our urban structures
seem to be
a house of cards
a million scenarios can be imagined
where society tumbles
and though sometimes
I'd rather be hiding in the woods
with my "tribe"
I need some cash first
to set us up right
(somebody's got to do it)
plus
I have faith I'll be guided back
just in time
or....
just maybe
it turns out OK
even for the city dwellers
&
there's no need to worry
at all
transformed by a strong wind from the North
arriving like an unpredicted weather system
washing away so much silt
a Divine reminder of how to be pure hearted presence
(and a veritable chakra shake up)
behold!
as the calendar turns
I am New

musing on mountains
I followed the fairies into the forest
forgot the physical
melted into meta
learned a new Way
integrating into a world of sensitive souls
then...
slam!
(time's up)
Now I walk here
again the urban elf
on a mission
emissary to the East
learning and earning
(and honestly, having a lot of fun)
yet preparing
for the abundant eventual homecoming
(just in time)
poetry of the day
Some Rumi worth ruminating over...
Who makes these changes?
I shoot an arrow right.
It lands left.
I ride after a deer and find myself
chased by a hog.
I plot to get what I want
and end up in prison.
I dig pits to trap others
and fall in.I should be suspicious
of what I want.- Rumi Mathnawi
