I'm feeling really at home in Toronto and am playing a lot of music! My band Giant Triangle has its first gig on October 12, and I've been going to a lot of drum circles & jam sessions. I also played for an outdoor yoga class at the Junction Music Festival this weekend. I still have a day job but I'm finding the more I focus on music, the better things go in all aspects of my life. I feel like not depending on music for money allows me to be less stressed & more creative (though I wish I had more time for it!) It's about improving my own musical skills and spending as much time in "the zone" as possible. Good times.
A flute duet between Earth and Space to celebrate 50 years of humans in space!
This is a little rough (I decided to leave the breathing sounds in) but it's a start towards exploring harmonies more.
"Shadow Dance" took about 2 hours to make, and I'm still learning the technology side of things.
I'm looking forward to spending more time with the process and going a little deeper into the flute headspace while I have a break from work over the holidays.
I am still playing flute and still centred on what's important... anyone worried that I'm going off track can relax.
I am feeling more in tune with guidance than ever and balanced in my buffoonery!
I uploaded a 14:47 minute track of flute over the sound of a storm, the concept is that the flutist has found a nice cave to hide out in.
I used an open source Freesound.org sound for the storm sounds (By daveincamas (http://www.freesound.org/usersViewSingle.php?id=111413) and made a few CDs of the tracks I've got up at Soundcloud with a cover I made from an image licensed under Creative Commons (by Canon in 2D http://www.flickr.com/photos/16462767@N00/2210900867) on Flickr!
I can mail out copies of the CD if anyone wants, but all the tracks are downloadable....
Today, I'm uploading some of my flute music to Soundcloud, if you're interested in hearing it.
