Things were getting so intense organizationally and interpersonally with the music festival I've been working so hard on lately called Entheos I was starting to feel crazy.
Here's something I posted to the team to remind myself and everyone else why we do it...
WHY ARE YOU HERE?

sometimes a project this big can get overwhelming and we question our own involvement
however I know that there is real passion among the participants, we are doing this for bigger reasons than just to promote our own stuff
I am starting this thread to find out why you’re involved… what inspired you?
I have been going to festivals in 1999 in Ontario (I’m an “Omie”) and the experiences I’ve had have changed my life. Meeting people, the magic of free form dance, and above all (for me) the MUSIC.
I also take the “divine within” of it all seriously.
Part of what inspires me to work on events is so that others can experience this shift in their own way.
I got involved in Entheos last year initially to do promo and field online communictions. I decided to go up early with the main crew and do “whatever needed to be done” and ended up speaking in front of town council (who almost didn’t let the party happen), dealing with a lot of miscellaneous loose ends, and doing a LOT of dishes at HQ :)
This year I decided to be officially involved more and though it’s been more intense than I expected I am going to hang on and do my best to make sure that everything happens for our collective benefit.
Everyone’s help is SO needed and appreciated!!
I sincerely love Entheos & its crew. It is impossible to measure what this event will do, however it’s obvious many of us have an intuitive knowing that it is important in more ways than one.
Let’s work together and get this baby launched!
Etymology: Greek enthousiasmos, from enthousiazein to be inspired, irregular from ENTHEOS inspired, from en- + theos god
1 a: belief in special revelations of the Holy Spirit
2 a: strong excitement of feeling : ardor
b: something inspiring zeal or fervor
Today I listened to the old Deepak Chopra audio called Perfect Health in which he said the most important thing about choosing a form of exercise is that you ENJOY it.
in prayer I asked
how do I ground out these intense feelings coming at me from all around?
the answer came through
(as applied alliteration)
ENGAGE them fully in the heart
ENERGIZE them into Love
EMANATE them outward everywhere
The book SexGod: Exploring the Endless Connections Between Sexuality and Spirituality was written by a Christian Minister who is one of the wisest characters I've encountered in some time. His words have affected my life very strongly in recent weeks.
Here's a quote:
Whatever it is that has its hooks in you, you will never be free from it until you find something you want more. It's not about getting rid of desire. It's about giving ourselves to bigger and better and more powerful desires.
Here is a quote I randomly opened up to today in Eckhart Tolle's book A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose this morning.
There's a reason I admire him so much and that millions (literally) more are discovering his wisdom. I feel that the fact Oprah calls him "a prophet of the 21st Century" and features him so often is testimony to the fact that we are undergoing a major consciousness revolution here on Earth at this time.
I also feel this consciousness revolution will be considered the most historically significant even of this period in history. Keep this in mind the next time the mainstream news tempts you into thinking we're doomed ;)
If in the midst of negativity you are able to realize "At this moment I am creating suffering for myself" it will be enough to raise you above the limitations of conditioned egoic states and reactions. It will open up infinite possibilities which come to you when there is awareness -- other vastly more intelligent ways of dealing with any situation. You will be free to let go of your unhappiness the moment you recognize it as unintelligent. Negativity is not intelligent. It is always of the ego. The ego may be clever, but it is not intelligent. Cleverness pursues its own little aims. Intelligence sees the larger whole in which all thing are connected. Cleverness is motivated by self-interest, and it is extremely short-sighted. Most politicians and businesspeople are clever. Very few are intelligent. Whatever is attained through cleverness is short-lived and always turns out to be eventually self-defeating. Cleverness divides; intelligence includes.
Mothers Day was created as a way to reconcile war torn families based on a common love of Mothers. The creator, Anna Jarvis, was disillusioned by how commercial it had become after only a few short years.
Here's a video from a campaign to "take back" the holiday and make it more meaningful...
yesterday I was moved to buy a Louise Hay CD on anger release
the CD drive on my old computer doesn't work so I had to use another machine in the house and I had a lot of technical difficulties getting it onto my computer
I kept getting angry the process was taking so long and then laughing at myself because of the irony
the meditation was amazing and I had prophetic dreams of the Joy to come
message me if you want to hear it
I have finished my stint at the tax office and am now officially focusing on my Entheos Gathering (contact me if you want a ticket, as I have a few available at a slightly discounted rate) responsibilities and in general getting my life organized.
The tax season job taught me a lot about organizing money, how to deal with others' anger and frustration without "taking it on" and that I do indeed have some very valuable organizational and advisory abilities in business. This was very empowering. I also became friends with my coworkers!
After the festival my life is totally unknown. Anything could happen after that, which is both scary and exciting. What I need is enough funds to support me while I work on my writing and my music education while facilitating the maintainance of a peaceful headspace. Time will show what's next.
Any ideas or opportunities would be appreciated...
this morning I decided that I must get my flute fixed despite the material expense
though it may be "impractical" in a set of conventional eyes, this is a Divine calling
am going to Vancouver on Tuesday for other appointments & plan to drop it off then
it is key I have it in time for Entheos and the Summer in general...
this season of peon pay doing taxes for a living has shown me where my True priorities lie and I must choose this
though there are little doubts my soul rejoices
if there is anyone who would like to donate to my flute fund a donation to Mastercard will be made in your honour!
