m’argot

I've decided to start spelling Margot with a t.

I like having the word argot in there and I'm a bit of a Francophile...

/merci

  1. why would you assume that?

    brrrrrrrrr no way

  2. M’argot, I like the apostrophe as well. And it is short step from “argot” to “ergot”.

Noun 1. argot – a characteristic language of a particular group (as among thieves)

    For example…
In the argot of the underworld, she ‘was taken for a ride.’

As for occasionally switching to French, to paraphrase one of the characters from “The Matrix” movies:

“Swearing in French, it is like wiping your ass with silk.”
    p.

  3. and on second thought just adding the “T” changing argo to argot and we’ve lost:

argonaut – A Cephalopod mollusk of warm seas whose females have delicate papery spiral shells.

    and

argo – 1. Formerly a large constellation in the southern hemisphere. 2. Jason’s ship in greek mythology.

I think maybe I can just almost visualize the “delicate papery sprial shell” version.

To quote the bard, “A rose by any other name…”

The newly refined moniker fits you to a “t”.
    p.

  4. Re-invention… every life goes through stages… from 1981-2005 I was known to my friends as Preacha Bill… then someone stuck me with the name Billdozer (inside joke).

Margaret, Maggie, Margo, Margot… what is in a name ?? just a bunch of jumbled letters… my Hebrew name is Eliyahu Simchah… just another name in a long list of many.

I answer to all that call me… you can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, you can even call me Ray Jay, but never call me late for dinner.

I met a guy back in 1987 that had no name… his parents really could not decide on a name for him… so he just went by his last name… but answered to “hey you”.

I say that if this stage in your life has you dotting your “T”s and crossing your “I”s then go for it.

  5. um, thanks for the link but I’m still confused about what that Bohos network is…
