a good idea for spam
I use Fastmail as my email client because it allows me to check all of my many email addresses in one place (including my rusty old practicalhippie Hotmail account) and it's accessible via the web (so I don't have to be on my computer, which is great for travelling around.)
It also includes a great feature I haven't seen elsewhere: the ability to make it look like your email address is bouncing and therefore invalid. It's the electronic equivalent of "return to sender, no such number." This doesn't stop spam, however it prevents people who sell lists of "valid" email addresses to other spammers from including me in their lists.
Their spam filtering works pretty good too :)

I´m sorry to tell you that Gmail is the best webmail service available.
Lately... Google bought Postini...

Sorry but your webmail is not the best.
gee whiz I stand corrected :P
I love Google however don't need them knowing everything about everything I do...
A good webmail client is definitely a step up from those old email accounts we all used to have and as you say, it is nice to have a place to collect all that mail from all those "webdresses" (word-of-the-day)we've all had over the years...
I've had good luck w/ both yahoo and gmail. Google probably knows as much about me as they want. Sure hope they really "do no evil".
And on second thought, maybe a webdress is really a bit of insubstantial lounge wear, spun from the finest of spider silks for those fairy princesses among us who seek the ultimate in casual comfort.
p.
I agree but I cannot work without Gmail, its integrated search engine...
It's true that I'm in love with Google, especially my high tech librarian side. I'd love to do some work for them!
I hope they consider implementing that yummy bounce feature...
I say Gmail is the best FREE webmail there is but you get what you pay for. For the small annual pricetag and the convenience fastmail provides it's worth it.
Please propose this feature. I´m interested as well. Today there are many assholes sending spam or harrasing people.
